Green Lantern wallpaper series: BlueDesign
The second wallpaper I did for the Green Lantern wallpaper series was of blue, since Kiks seemed to identify the most with the Blue Lanterns.
The same style was applied as with the green, the lantern’s symbol plus a portion of their oath. While green was representative of willpower, blue was that of hope. I particularly liked this wallpaper, since it kind of…calms my nerves when I start worrying about work. Haha!

I’ve had this for a while now, and I seem to have forgotten to upload them onto this little space of online real estate that I own.
But anyway, I made a whole set of laptop wallpapers with the different colors of the 7 lantern corps from the comics Green Lantern: Blackest Night. It’s one of my favorites out there, and I often use it as a reference when I teach my graphic design class about color theory.
The first I made was of the green lantern corps, not because they take the “lead role”, but because out of all the lantern corps, I found that I identify most with this particular one. Kiks and I talked about this for a while, and tried thinking of which corp we and our friends belonged to, just for fun! (Can anyone say “geeks”?) The text at the bottom was taken from the Green Lantern oath, which I also applied to all the other wallpapers as well.

Cukay’s – Cake JarsPhotography
…and possibly one of my favorites to photograph were the cake jars! They were so pretty on their own that it required very little work in terms of styling. The most styling that I did for this was…probably taking that bite out of the red velvet jar. Haha!

Cukay’s – CupcakesPhotography
One of my favorite photography projects that we had was last June, for Cukay’s! As most people know, I’m a huge dessert person, so imagine how my brain exploded with the sight of all the pretty, delicious pastries!
Cukay’s has such a large assortment of cupcakes that it was difficult to pick just one favorite!

Nipa – ProductsPhotography
Nipa also wanted to showcase their products found in their “subscription box”, so we have this. A bit of a challenge for my makeshift studio/photography table (a.k.a. my small work desk), but I managed! Yay!

Nipa – Cashew ButterPhotography
More product photography for my portfolio, because most of my photography work for Tender Blender lately has been of products for Nipa. It was a nice change, having very little to think about the setup (besides lights and the acrylic surface, of course).

Beer Below ZeroPhotography
Mixing it up a bit with some product photography! Shot this a while back for a client, because they started serving beer below zero, but didn’t have a photo of…beer below zero. At best, the photo they had was another bottle, with the label edited on. I would not stand for it!
The funny thing is, this was the second bottle of beer I had to put in the freezer. While the first one was chilling, my dad found it and partook of it. I couldn’t stop laughing! It was a good thing there was another one.
That’s real frost, ladies and gents! And my old sheet of rubberfoam came in handy.

Fantastic Facial HairPhotography
Another favorite! A guy with the most awesome mustache that I’ve seen in San Francisco!

Hello, StrangerPhotography
One of my favorite snaps from my San Francisco trip. I settled at a window seat in a Starbucks, and propped my camera up to face a certain direction and took a shot every time people passed by. I think this guy attempted a “photo bomb” but instead gave me a wonderful photo! I have a ton more from that window seat series.

If I’m really honest with myself, I think I’d be some sort of street photographer if I gave up on food. It’s a wild change, from the posed, calculated shots with food, to the spontaneous and fleeting photos I get with random people on the streets.
Also, hello to my first photo on my portfolio taken with my Fujifilm X-A1! It’s an amazing little thing.
